We loved this little cabin right on Moose River! Its a great location for exploring the Moosehead Lake Region. We had access to all of Gray Ghost Camps amenities next door (kayaks, paddleboards, etc.) and the hosts were extremely helpful!

We had a lovely stay. We took advantage of the small motorboat rental from the next door camping ground, and bought fishing licenses for the day. Bring some groceries with you to take advantage of the full kitchen

All was as described. We enjoyed, that in the cottage - in spite of the unpretentious style, which one expects and sctually seeks in a cottage - all installations, you need for a comfortable accomodation, were provided and were functioning very well: heating, oven, coffee-machine, cold and warm water. It was also good, that we could supply ourselves with additional blanckets, because it was occasionaly pretty cold. Nevertheless these days were very recreational, because of the quietness and the impressive nature. Walther and Margitha

The camp was really great. We were given the option to choose from 3 different cabins when we arrived. Amy was welcoming and even allowed our 13 year old dog to come in to the office to say hello. The cabin was incredibly equipped with more than just the essentials and we found that we brought items that normally we need (even at hotel chain rooms that are for longer stays and have kitchens) but did not need this time! The furnishings were comfortable and we felt spoiled. The big fireplace was a favorite of ours and our dog and were glad each night that we could enjoy it. We also loved having horseshoes, a dock, picnic table and outside firepit available for use as well. We did have a tiny hiccup with our hot water and I felt awful calling at 6:20am, however, Amy and Steve were both extremely pleasant and the water heater reset in 5 minutes. They were very pleasant and responsive to anything we asked and offered suggestions on a place to visit. There is a binder with useful information in it on the surrounding areas. We will certainly be back!

family friendly island paradise Since we are living in NYC with all its craziness, electronic devices and overbooked days, this little paradise island seemed like a dream, ESPECIALLY since we had bad cellphone reception, no electricity and no neighbors to talk to! Amy and Steve were super sweet, responsible and reachable. They truly created a sweet house that suits our style - lots of antique (yet super functioning) kitchen items, antique furniture and pictures. The interior of the outdoor looks like it had an interior designer involved ; ) . This is a perfect spot to GET AWAY from it all, fish , grill the fish on the BBQ or over the fire (in the perfectly build fire pit), read in one of the three hammocks, explode the magical, mossy birch woods, enjoy amazing sunsets AND sunrises (just walk across to the other side of the island... 1minute walk...) and sleep with just the sounds of surrounding water, no loud neighbors or even many mosquitos! we are planning to return next summer for sure!!!
